Brandi Fox, is a lover of entrepreneurship and her passion for business ownership resulted in the creation of her business: B. The Entrepreneur Consulting Agency.
Her love for entrepreneurship started at the age of 10 when she started selling lip gloss rings on the bus to school, and through middle school and high school she started a hair braiding business and a babysitting service for the freedom of earning her own income.
At the age of 20 Brandi was a wife, mother, full time student, and employee. She started Pamper Us Mobile Massage Service, Charlotte's 1st Mobile Massage and Spa Company in 2011. The trials and errors of running a business with no guidance led to the long, but steady growth of Pamper Us Mobile. Upon quitting her full-time job as a social worker in 2016 and transitioning to Pamper Us Mobile full time she continued to further her entrepreneurship education through the completion of over eight entrepreneurial incubator programs, two pitch competition victories, and she earned her Masters Certification in Digital Entrepreneurship.
Being an active member of the startup community in her hometown of Charlotte, NC, Brandi would consistently hear the frustrations of her fellow entrepreneurs of the lack of support for the startup business community, in particular minority owned businesses. In addition, as Pamper Us Mobile continuously grew she began to receive constant questions about entrepreneurship and how to start a business. Noticing a gap in the education of the startup business process especially for African American entrepreneurs Brandi created B. The Entrepreneur Consulting
Agency to simplify the business startup process, and to help new and aspiring entrepreneurs start and grow their business the right way.
Chadwick Ray
President and Managing Partner of Focused on Community
After earning a Bachelor's degree in accounting, Chadwick secured a position working for a prominent accounting firm in DC, as an accountant/auditor in a CPA program. He was happy to help the corporate world with their finances, but he really wanted to make an impact in our greater community in the place needed most: financial education/literacy.
In the Black Community, many are not taught the basics of money management (life insurance, understanding their 401k/IRA/retirement, etc); or the many ways our people could access funding and free resources through Not-For-Profit Life insurance companies (community grants, scholarships, online learning enrichment programs, etc.). In fact, 99% of our community aren't aware that Not-for-Profit life insurance companies (Fraternal Benefit Societies- 501c8) exist.
During his first few years in the industry, Chadwick learned first-hand that a vast majority in our community "don't know what we don't know", and it became his mission to spread awareness to as many of our people as possible. Over time, he realized that there were many more out there, just like me, that had a passion to serve our community in this way. Fast forward, over a decade later, Focused on Community is the fastest growing Black-Owned Insurance Agency in the country, and they owe it all to their focus. His company is FOCUSED ON COMMUNITY.
Focused on Community partners with and mentors individuals from all over the country on how to use what is available to them, to build towards their future. Then they encourage others to make that same impact in the lives of others, by educating their local community.
