BBOC's Advisory Board is comprised of BBOC members, community leaders, & professionals who are dedicated to empowering Black-owned businesses and their community. The Advisory Board is a non-governing body that provides BBOC's executive team much needed guidance, best practices, and resourceful information, ensuring executive decisions align with BBOC's Mission.
Expectations:
1) Meet once a month:
Meetings: Every 2nd Wednesday of Each Month. Promptly following our full body meeting we will divide into committees.
Our meetings are normally 2 hours.
2) Volunteer at-least 8 hours per month
3) Each Board Member is required to serve on a committee:

Although Committees are led by Advisory Board Members, Anyone can become a committee member; Volunteers, Business Owners, Professionals, Community Leaders etc.
Committee Leaders:
Each Committee is managed by a Chair and Co-Chair. Other Leadership roles may be implemented upon the discretion of Committee Chairs & co-chairs.
BBOC Values our Advisory Board and Committee Members and we strive daily to maintain a very professional atmosphere and rewarding experience! We understand that this will not be your final stop and see your journey with us as an opportunity to help you grow as you help our organization grow!
Each board member will be provided a quarterly assessment. This assessment is an opportunity to see where you have excelled and to see where you may need more resources. Each board member should leave us more equipped than when they joined us!
Also, twice a year BBOC holds a Board Retreat. The retreat consists of the executive team, board, committee members, ambassadors, admins, and volunteers. Retreats consist of team-building exercises, dinner, board games, & much more!
Board & Committee members are provided free passes to BBOC events and training sessions. The President will advise of specifics.
Board members will be featured in our publication, the Black Connector During the March/April issue.
Board Members are provided Premier Membership and all benefits aligned with being a Premier Member (a $180 value)
